This video "Hold Me Tight" is one of my favorites. It is a short and simple montage which delivers a relatable story to the viewer. The music elevates the animation and creates a sense of longing for the characters. I want to do work that promotes interest and captures user attention in a relatable and meaningful way.
The Owner of Nasty Woman Wines, Meghan, and I talked extensively about exactly what she wanted to see in this animation. It was important to her that we were showing marginalized people breaking the mold and kicking butt! Many people don't see the struggle humans go through before breaking into success. This animation shows a woman working a job, studying at home, and her future self ruling the board room.
The Sour Notes employed me to make a social media teaser for their upcoming album release. This was also a new music sneak peak.
Around 2014 OWC moved its creative team to Austin, TX and I moved to Austin later that year to join them. I created animations for each of the OWC sister locations to add to the blog and potentially the employment site. I also created a Las Vegas and Chicago animation for their use.
Outside of my day job I create animations for fun! I work through different tutorials and learn new techniques in After Effects. I use these learning experiences to add to my production at my current job. I've learned a lot about setting up new scripts, exporting files, and general best practices for animation creation.
Here are some examples of animations I've created while following tutorials.
The animations below were created with the same script called "RubberHose". This script was developed to easily make bouncy body animations like the running woman. I wanted to use "RubberHose" as it was not intended as well.
